The Saab 9-3 wasn’t a particularly great car, but I still want a Turbo X.

Why no turbo S60? :(

Because a V8 S80 exists.

I kind of feel bad for people driving late-model Saabs. Not because they’re bad, but because I figure:
1. They really love Saabs, so the death of the company is a giant bummer for them, or
2. They just needed something really cheap and have no idea the challenges ahead of them when they need repairs, etc.
And I *love* the old 900 Turbos. Wish I had bought one in good shape a few years ago.

I haven’t had any real major issues, aside from a broken spring which is common apparently. My 07 still runs like a champ at 130K, cept for that weird idle thing that goes away.
I picked up mine dirt cheap right after Saab went bankrupt and laughed all the way to the bank.

I had a friend in high school who bought a manual 900 because it was the only running car in good shape he could find locally for under $1000. He fell squarely into the 2nd category.

The v6 turbo car later was basically the turbo x anyways so if you can’t find a turbo x just get one of those

The 9-3 was a terrible car, turbo X included.

2.8T V6
2008–2010 (XWD)
V6
24V
LP9
2792 cc
206 kW (280 PS; 276 hp) @ 5500 rpm
The version with this is called the 9-3 Aero

XWD was only in the turbo X.
“The Turbo X is SAAB’s first production car with the
XWD
all-wheel drive
system from
Haldex Traction
and eLSD. It is powered by a 2.8-litre V6 producing 280 PS (210 kW) mated to a six-speed
manual
or automatic gearbox.”
the 280 HP matches with the number in that motor.
aside from the turbo X, the V6s where FWD.

I was available with AWD and a V6 for sure. It was on my shortlist around 2011.
